I think we can all agree that baby bumps are the cutest thing ever. Capturing the moments before baby meets the world is so beautiful, and I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to photograph this special time in their lives.

Ashley and Garret are expecting a baby boy very soon, and I finally understand what people mean when they say a woman is “glowing” during pregnancy. Ashley looked absolutely STUNNING in her dress, and I could feel her love for that baby during this session. I think Garret had his own glow going on too!

These two were so much fun to hang out with for the evening! I can’t wait to see all the photos of their beautiful baby boy when he arrives!

I love love! And I love capturing love! Megan and Wade volunteered as tribute when I reached out to practice some couples shooting back in August, and I’m still swooning over these photos!

I had never done a couples session before, but I’m SO glad I did, and I can’t wait to do more in the future! We had such a great time walking around Veteran’s Memorial Park, chatting about random life thangs, and having Wade whisper in to Megan’s ear for some candid laughing photos…I’m not sure I want to know what he said that day haha!

Typically, guys don’t get stoked for a session like women do, and we all showed up a little nervous, but at the end of the day, we were all so happy with how these photos turned out, and I’m even more happy that Megan and Wade will have photos they can look back on for years to come.

Investing in Prints

I got some print samples in last week and I am SWOONING over how beautiful they are!

Let’s tacobout why investing in prints is so rad (see what I did there? Now I’m craving tacos):

Think about fun is it to look through an old photo album with friends and family? The ultimate throwback right? Wouldn’t it be amazing to sit down with your future fam and take a walk down memory lane?

How does it make you feel when you see photos hung up in your home, or see photos hung up in your family/friends’ homes? You smile because you see how happy they look…you can almost feel their emotions as if you were there too.

You can re-live that moment every time you see these photos beautifully placed in the spaces of your home.

We live in a digital world now, but how amazing would it be to have printed photos that you can show your kids, nieces, nephews, friends, and future generations… think grandkids! You can sit down with them and tell them the story of that moment. Beautiful right? I know it feels a little crazy to be thinking that far ahead, but I don’t want you to kick yourself later for not getting prints when you had the chance!

I’m happy to announce that ALL my clients will receive a gallery reveal after their session, where I’ll sit down with you and show you the final edits of all your photos, and I’ll help you pick out which print products you want to keep forever!

We’ll work together to find spaces in your home where framed prints, canvas prints, or metal prints would look best, and if you’re wanting an album, I can get you those too! I even have an option for polaroid prints!

I’m here to help every step of the way…our session goes beyond taking the photos!

I can’t wait to get some heirloom items in your homes that will last a lifetime!

It’s been a long time since I’ve busted out a blog post. I want to get in the habit of writing about each and every one of my shoots, but after I did this session with Cady, things EXPLODED! In all the best ways.

As I began this journey with my new photography biz, I started doing trade shoots just to find my groove with things. It wasn’t long before inquiries came in about my fees for sessions. That’s when I realized I had a lot more work to do business wise.

I had no prices set, no system in place, no business plan, and no clear direction in which I wanted to go with my photography.

So, I busted out a couple more trade shoots, and got to work! That’s where I’ve been the last few months…doing all the adulting things and setting the foundation for my little business.

Enough about where I’ve been, let’s talk about this shoot!

Not only do I love Cady because her name is spelled like the character from Mean Girls (whatever, I’m getting cheese fries), but she’s one of those people that you meet and have an instant connection with. You feel like you can talk to her about anything, and she just makes a person feel comfy!

At this point, I wasn’t very confident in my ability to pose someone for a shoot that wasn’t my husband or our dogs, so my anxiety was through the roof.

We got downtown, parked at the very tip top of a parking garage (where we would later end the session), and wandered around downtown.

I was MIND BLOWN when Cady told me she had only been in front of a professional camera twice. TWICE! She was a natural! It was so hard picking out favorites from this one because they were all THAT good.

As the sun started to set, we made our way back to the top of the parking garage, I almost lost my sunglasses off the side of the building while showing her a pose to do (don’t worry, no sunglasses were harmed in the making of these photos), and we got some killer magic hour shots.

All in all, this session was magical, and I can’t wait to shoot with Cady again.
