Idaho Winter Mini Sessions - What are the Benefits?

Idaho photographer Heather Mullinix of Mullinix Photography captures a couple in the snowy mountains dancing with each other

Winter in Idaho is already so beautiful! Why not take the opportunity to snag a mini session to capture some photos in this incredible season?!

I decided against a Valentine’s Day Mini Session theme, mostly because I think love should be captured year round, but also because we’re still in the heart of Winter (see what I did there?) and I think this is the PERFECT time to get some photos done!

Mini Sessions are great because they’re short, 15 minute sessions… so you’re not having to freeze your buns off for very long, you can get those cozy cuddly shots in without having to allot an hour out in the cold, and if you’ve got a busy day planned, you can easily get in and out!

Another benefit of scheduling a mini session is if you’re wanting some family shots, and you have kiddos, it’s easy to work around dinner, nap, and bedtime schedules. Plus, you don’t have to worry about trying to get a smile out of them for too long.

I chose Reid Merrill Park in Eagle, Idaho for this year’s mini sessions on both February 11th and February 18th from the hours of 3pm - 5:30pm MST. Yes, this is a park, but there’s a beautiful spot back in the trees to get the look of being in the forrest without driving TO the forrest.

If you’re from Idaho, you know that the weather can change at the drop of a hat, but I’m hoping there will be a little bit of snow fall back in the trees giving us those cozy Winter vibes. If not, this location is still going to be beautiful! It’s a win win :)

Come one come all! Couples, families, singles…here’s your chance to get some professional photos done if you’re on a budget!
